YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: The following tasks should be achieved within this master thesis: Literature research on the hybrid CAA approach and current methods. Utilize Partially Averaged Navier-Stokes (PANS) equations to compute acoustic source terms with FIRE M. Analyze and compare the results of LES and PANS simulations to assess the differences in the provided source terms. Apply AVL FIRE M in combination with openCFS as the second software tool to simulate the incompressible turbulent flow field and acoustic wave propagation. Analyze and compare the obtained flow and acoustic results with relevant literature for validation purposes. YOUR PROFILE: Ongoing master studies in the fields of Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering or similar Programming skills in Python, C, Fortran for data analysis and post-processing tasks Experience with the 3D CFD simulation and meshing is beneficial Background knowledge in aerodynamics and acoustics recommended but not required Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Proficient language skills in English or German WE OFFER: You can write your thesis independently and receive professional guidance and support from our experienced employees.
